Pedestrian killed, struck twice during multi-vehicle crash in Pittsylvania County



PITTSYVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police say a pedestrian was hit twice and killed during a multi-vehicle accident on US 29 South in Pittsylvania County on December 8.

VSP said that around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, a 2024 Honda CRV was driving on US 29S near Route 946 when it hit a person standing in the road. The pedestrian was then hit a second time by a 2021 Subaru.

79-year-old Carlos Manuel Vientos of Danville was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing; however, no charges are pending.
