No travel advisory after outages, fallen trees, & blocked roadways


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Multiple departments are warning residents of power outages, downed trees, and blocked roadways across the region.

Residents must take precautions as trees and power lines are still falling, which can unexpectedly block roadways.

Motorists could be driving and not see a fallen tree in front of or on your vehicle.

If you have to travel it is important to drive with caution, however, if you do not have to drive, residents are urged to stay off the roads.

VDOT, AEP, and first responders are working to address calls.

AEP can be reached at 1-800-956-4237 and VDOT at 1-800-367-7623.

9-1-1 calls are reserved for emergencies.
