Man killed after shooting into occupied home in Ridgeway



RIDGEWAY, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a shooting into an occupied home in Ridgeway left one man on November 28.

The sheriff said around 5 p.m. on Thursday, deputies received reports of shots being fired into an occupied home on Villa Road. On the scene, deputies found 29-year-old Marquise Antonio Waller with multiple gunshot wounds.

Waller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators arrived to collect evidence and Waller’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke for an autopsy.

Shortly after the shooting, 25-year-old Takai Anthony Brodie allegedly turned himself in to Henry County Sheriff’s investigators.

Takai Anthony Brodie has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • First Degree Murder
  • Use a Firearm in the commission of a felony.

Brodie is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
