UPDATE: LPD identified man charged in early morning shooting on Old Forest Road



UPDATE 11/26 5:56 P.M. LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg Police have announced the arrest of a man in connection to the shooting that occurred on Old Forest Road on November 26.

Early morning on Tuesday, 28-year-old Joshua Kannan of Lynchburg was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm while in the commission of a crime, and discharging a firearm within city limits, according to LPD.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded to a report of shots fired early Tuesday morning.

LPD said a call was received around 12:15 a.m. regarding gunfire on the 3300 block of Old Forest Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the arm while leaving the apartment. The man was taken to the Lynchburg General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they were quickly able to locate and arrest a suspect believed to be connected to the incident.

There is no further threat to the public at this time.
