Man arrested on Patrick & Henry Community College by Campus Police



HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office along with the Patrick & Henry Community College Campus Police arrested a man after a situation on November 4.

The arrest was made on Monday at the Patrick & Henry Community College after a student notified Campus Police of a potentially life-threatening situation.

Campus Police then located 35-year-old William Shane Goodman of Martinsville and arrested him on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested on the following offenses:

  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of a firearm while in possession of a certain substance (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of a controlled substance

Goodman is currently being held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463). Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,5000 for information related to a crime and will reward anyone with information to determine the amount.
