LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Central Virginia Transportation Planning Organization (CVTPO) is working in partnership with the City of Lynchburg and the Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (GLTC) to create safer transportation in the City.
The Lynchburg Multimodal Plan will develop strategies working to develop safer transportation systems like walking, biking, and taking the bus. It will also be easier for residents to reach places in the community and connect with the bus stops and routes.
The ultimate goal of the project is to create a safer and easier way for people to walk, bike, or use other modes of transportation to make Lynchburg feel safer when traveling not by car.
The completion of the plan in the fall of 2025 will make transportation safer for people to access in places like schools, parks, and jobs. The plan includes using data analysis and community input so the GLTC and the CVTPO can meet the needs of residents.
