LWR works to rehabilitate Lynchburg sewer systems, lane closures expected

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg Water Resources (LWR) will work on rehabilitating a few sewer pipes in Lynchburg.

The work will begin on Tuesday, November 19 through Thursday, November 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to protect and improve Lynchburg’s sewer system. It will also help prevent expensive backups, overflows, and digging repairs, which can usually be left unmaintained.

Contractor Prism will be working to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer pipes that go along a portion of the Lynchburg Expressway through trenchless liner installation methods.

During the work, there will be a right lane and shoulder closure in the northbound direction on (US 501) the Lynchburg Expressway near Candlers Mountain Road entrance ramp.

Motorists are advised to prepare for minor delays and drive with caution while driving through the work zone. Emergency vehicles have access to the road at all times.
