Join Pulaski County for the “Dublin Doozy” this March



PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On February 4, Pulaski County Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with Pulaski County Tourism and the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, has announced a new St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

The “Dublin Doozy” will take place on Saturday, March 15 at Randolph Park to honor Dublin’s name.

The event will include family-friendly activities, including a 5k, live music, games from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with many food and beverage options. The line for the 5k will begin at 3 p.m. for all participants.

“Pulaski County is an event destination, and what better place to celebrate the St. Patrick’s holiday than at Randolph Park in Dublin,” said Jenna Kinder, assistant director of Parks and Recreation. “The Dublin Doozy creates a place for everyone to celebrate and enjoy a sense of community. We’re excited to offer a 5K component to this event for our friends who like to stay on the move.”

Adults can register for $25, and kids 12 and under can register for free. Those who register will receive an event T-shirt and a cup for the finish line fill-up of Brewing’s green beer or Squeez’um & Shake’um’s green lemonade. The 5K is timed by Run Roanoke and is sponsored by RunAbout Sports, the top 5K finishers will receive medals.

Attendees of the event who do not participate in the 5K enter the event for free so everyone has a chance to join the celebration.

Music will be from The Reflections Band NRV, and they will play throughout the afternoon.

Food and drinks will include:

  • Barbecue from Mountain 2 Island
  • Hot pressed sandwiches from Copper Dog & Co.
  • Classic snacks like hot dogs and hot pretzels from The Snack Station
  • Sweet treats like funnel cakes with Irish cream from Johnny Ray’s
  • the full St. Patrick’s Day drink menu from Space Rabbit Coffee and fresh-squeezed lemonade from Squeez’um & Shake’um

Kids can enjoy free activities throughout the event, such as face painting, carnival games, inflatables, scavenger hunts, and a shamrock-themed photo station.
