Electric service line starts brush fire in Galax


GALAX, Va. (WFXR) – The Galax Fire Department responded to a brush fire at 1012 Glendale Road on Tuesday, February 4.

Crews responded around 10:55 a.m. and started to contain the fire using two backpack blowers, two chainsaws, and hand tools.

The cause of the brush fire was determine to be from an electric service line that was close by.

AEP, and the Virginia Department of Forestry aided the Galax Fire Department.
