Danville offers transit services for residents upon election day

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville Transit is providing a free bus service for Election Day residents who cannot vote due to lack of transportation.

The bus service will be available on Tuesday, November 5, for all Danville Transit services. The operation includes fixed-route and reservation-based services.

The fixed routes will go to most of the polling locations in the area and reservation-based is by Reserve A Ride as a door-to-door service within the city. However, Reserve A Ride does have capacity restraints.

Residents can cast ballots in five races of this year’s general election including the following:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • U.S. Senate
  • House of Representatives Fifth District
  • The City Council
  • The School Board

Voters who are registered can also vote on a proposed state constitutional amendment. For more information about a simple ballot visit, danvilleva.gov
