Children’s Medical Center Martinsville announces closure after 55 years of practice

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – After 55 years of practice and serving the community, the Children’s Medical Center Martinsville has made the difficult decision to close its doors permanently on January 1.

In a release through social media, the medical center said the announcement came after “unavoidable financial hardship.” Patients are still currently able to receive care as the center will continue to provide services through December 31.

“This is an announcement we never thought we would have to make, as this practice has been open for over 55 years, but due to unavoidable financial hardship, we can no longer keep our doors open.”

The center wants to assure patients their medical records will remain confidential and that they can have their records transferred to another medical office, and released to you, or a person you designate given your permission.

Anyone who needs to transfer and/or obtain medical records can visit the office during regular business hours Monday through Friday and sign an authorization form to have them released.

“We greatly value our relationships that we have built, and it has been an honor to serve this community for the past 55+ years. Best wishes for your future health!”
