Child injured during alleged accidental shooting in Roanoke County



ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke County Police are investigating after a child was hit with a bullet during an alleged accidental shooting at an apartment on November 2.

Police said reports of a shooting at an apartment on the 4300 block of Garst Mill Road were received around 7:18 a.m. on Saturday.

During an investigation a person said they were cleaning a weapon when it allegedly accidentally discharged, injuring their hand in the process.

Police believe the bullet traveled through the walls and then hit a child in the apartment next door.

There is currently no information regarding the child’s injuries.

Roanoke Police said the investigation is ongoing; however, no more information will be released. No arrests have been made at this time.
