PITTSYVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police are investigating a pedestrian accident in Pittsylvania County that killed a man from Chatham on December 7.
According to VSP, around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, a 2001 Ford Expedition was driving on Route 719N near Route 1004 when it hit a person walking on the road.
33-year-old Maurice Antwon Briggs of Chatham was taken to the hospital for treatment. Briggs later passed away from his injuries on Sunday, December 8.
The driver of the Ford was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing; however, no charges are pending.
