DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The new Caesars Virginia casino will welcome guests and an NBA Champion on Dec. 17.
Originally, the casino and hotel were supposed to open Dec. 12. Caesars did not explain in their release why the date was pushed.
The Grand Opening will launch with festivities at 10:15 a.m. That’s when a parade will set off throughout Danville, hosted by NBA Champion Dennis Rodman. It will feature race cars and supercars supplied by Virginia International Raceway, Kaizen Autosport and Foreign Cars Italia.
Rodman will also make the ceremonial first bet in Caesars Sportsbook.
At 11 a.m., community leaders plus executives with Caesars and the Eastern Band of Cherokee will share remarks before doors open at noon.
The night will end with a fireworks and drone show at 8 p.m. above the resort and the Three Sisters smokestacks.
Guests can continue to play at the temporary Danville Casino.
