Angels of Assisi rescue puppies before euthanasia at Patrick County Animal Shelter

PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On Monday, January 27, The Patrick County Public Animal Shelter reached out to Angels of Assisi to assist them in rescuing puppies, hoping they did not have to euthanize them.

They were worried they would have to euthanize seven 4-month-old Anatololian Shepherd/Hound mix puppies and seven one-month-old Pit Bull/Terrier mixes and their 2-year-old mom.

All the puppies have been accounted for, and the seven 4-month-old Anatolian Shepherd/Hound mix puppies are ready for adoption.

Angels of Assisi have named all the puppies after local landmarks, neighborhoods, and treasures including, Grandin, Raleigh, Wasena, McAfee, Star, Marbleyard and Big Lick.

The Pitbull/Terrier mixes are not available for adoption yet as they are too young but their names are Tinker, Cheesy Western, Carven, Elmwood, Smith (Mountain Lake), CI aka Community Inn, Dr. Pepper and the mom is named Moonshine.

If you are interested in adopting the puppies please visit www.angelsofassisi.org.
