UPDATE 7:19 P.M. ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — As of 7 p.m. Saturday, roughly 15,000 Appalachian Power customers are without service after a winter storm.
The company says flash floods are delaying restoration efforts, but they maintain that customers should have power back by late Sunday Feb. 16.
UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Approximately 25,000 Appalachian Power customers remain without power according to a Saturday morning update from AEP.
More than 1,000 remain without power in Carroll, Floyd, Franklin, Grayson, Montgomery, and Roanoke counties, according to the AEP outage map.

Appalachian Power says that restoration efforts are likely going to be delayed due to rain and possible flooding throughout much of the company’s Virginia service area.
The company is still hoping to have power restored for all customers by late Sunday.
