73-year-old male suffers injuries after single-vehicle crash in Lynchburg



LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Lynchburg Police Department and Lynchburg Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle accident on Campbell Avenue.

On Thursday, November 7, around 2:40 p.m., LPD and LFD responded to the 1600 block of Campbell Avenue for a single-vehicle accident.

Reports indicate the car was traveling south on Campbell Avenue when the vehicle struck a bridge, flipped onto the roof, and stopped at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Abattoir. The driver was trapped in the car and according to LFD had to be removed by members of the crew.

The 73-year-old male suffered critical injuries and was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
