$200,000 in damage after Salem mobile home fire

SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — Three people are displaced and a mobile home and nearby camper are total losses after a fire in Salem Saturday morning.

Salem Fire and EMS responded to a structure fire in the Salem Village Mobile Home Park around 8:30 a.m. They say they found heavy fire in the mobile home and believe wind pushed flames and heat to a nearby camper that also caught fire. Two cars were damaged by the heat, according to officials.

The department says a firefighter was minorly injured, but all residents were able to get out unharmed. The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.

The Salem Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
