16-year-old charged with felony after social media threat to Appomattox Schools



APPOMATTOX, Va. (WFXR) – The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a teenager in connection with a threat to kill students of Appomattox County Public Schools on January 5.

The sheriff said on Sunday, a social media threat was received on TikTok. Through investigation, it was determined that a teenager allegedly threatened to “end the lives of many students during a school day.”

After working with school officials, a 16-year-old juvenile resident of Appomattox County was charged with a felony charge of Sending threats of death or bodily injury to a person.

The teenager is currently being held at the Lynchburg Juvenile Detention Center.
