LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The City of Lynchburg has announced a temporary alternating lane closure over the next 16 weeks.
The closure will start on Monday, January 13 on John Lynch Memorial Bridge both on the northbound and southbound lanes to assist crews working on bridge repairs.
When the work progresses, traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the remainder of the project.
The work over the next 16 weeks will be the first phase of the John Lynch Memorial Bridge Repair Project which is over the James River.
Motorists can expect delays and should be alert to traffic patterns that may change during this time. Drivers should also use caution when traveling through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
